Castleman Trailway

Castleman Trailway - This 16.5 mile (26.5 kilometres) trailway follows much of the old Southampton to Dorchester railway line, and is therefore a gentle route for walking, cycling and on parts, horse riding. The trailway takes you through some of East Dorset's stunning landscape whilst also connecting a string of settlements between Ringwood and Poole.

The Castleman Railway, often referred to as Castleman's Corkscrew, is a historic railway line that snakes its way through the picturesque landscapes of Dorset, England. Established by Charles Castleman in the 19th century, this railway became a vital link between Southampton and Dorchester, providing both passenger and freight services. The line is characterized by its circuitous route, which, instead of taking a direct path, twists and turns much like a corkscrew.
